Hi everyone! I just finished my first workout tonight. I'm scared, slightly intimidated and wondering if I have what it takes to make it through 59 more days of this *Insanity*. I'm 29 y/o, 5'2 and 145 lbs. I'd like to tone up (especially the mid-section and my flubby arms) and drop a few if possible, but if I just replace the flab with muscle, I won't be too particular about the pounds. :-)

Just wanted to say "howdy" and ask you veterans a quick question: does it get any better, because I had to stop *a lot* during today's workout and I wonder if I'll ever get the results I'm looking for. (???)

Welcome to INSANITY! Yes, it does get better. Stopping is part of building your own safe pace. Personally after day 3 I felt this is attainable for me. Not sure of your health issues or cardio condition. If you do have an issue, discuss with your Dr. for approval to exercise. However, buy a heart rate monitor as you need to develop your cardio and by all means determine your max heart rate (for women start with 226 minus your age) that number is your max heart rate. From that number work into your training zones of 75-85% for INSANITY. Under no circumstances should you workout if you feel weak, out of breath or dizzy. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.....

    Welcome Teacherlady!
Push yourself 100% during every workout even if that means taking a lot of rest breaks. You'll find as you progress that you need fewer and fewer of them. I was amazed at how quickly my fitness improved during the first 2 weeks (and it continues to improve).
As Sean has said on these forums before, there is no way you cannot get results if you stick with this program (diet and workouts). Just keep pushing play and keep us updated on your progress!

it definitely gets better. i personally didn't even make it through the first fit test, but stuck with it. just keep at it, do as much as you can as hard as you can, and you'll continue to improve.

i'm smiling because i love it

Hi teacherlady, I'm your height and just a couple of years older. You'll keep having to stop; you just have to go at your own pace. Shaun says in one of the month 2 routines that every time you're forced to stop to let your heart rate recover, you're boosting your fitness level. So it's not about the stopping, but about the restarting! Good luck; you'll do great.

Keep digging deep. If you stick with it you'll see results. :) It is hard, but it's also fun and energizing. The more you do the better you'll feel. Make sure to watch the nutrition side of things too for maximum results.
