Hi I really want to get Insanity but am not sure if I would be able to do it.I had back surgery on my lower back and have 3 fused vertebrae so lots of running and jumping is not good for it.
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Sounds a bit dangerous to me. I would ask your doctor for a definitive opinion on this.

Yeah I agree. I have bulging L1-L5 disks which sucks but is not the same as fused disks (which I am trying to avoid). I would definitely ask your doctor or chiropractor if repeated high intensity, high impact aerobic type work is going to have a degenerative effect on your back. I had the same talk with my doctor and he said that I wasnt in any danger of degeneration, just had to deal with the pain. If I could handle the pain then I could keep doing the workouts. But be prepared to be in pain if your form isnt correct initially. Always jump and land on your toes and pace yourself. try not to go crazy at first until you have the routine down and are comfortable with it.

I have L5/S1 prolapse and L4/L5 bulge and have just done day one with impunity. Always tighten the core to support the back and do extra warmups that target your back. I do get lumbar spasms but since doing the fit test, don't get any. Certain exercises I have to do very very slowly, but there you go ...

I've had an ankle rebuilt twice too, wear orthotics, and a C5/C6 fusion and still have no problems. And arthritis behind my kneecaps, lol.

If I was a horse, they'd shoot me!

Hot baths to up the flippy trippy painkilling endorphins, and to mobilise the blood to shift the lactates works for me every time. IN fact, this program is costing me an arm and a leg in electricity bills for hot water but hey, it's summer so the heating isn't on.
