My "little" intro

Hi Everyone, I have been a fan of this site for the last month and I just recently started INSANITY (Day 12). I have to say that reading some of the stories here really helped me make up my mind jump to in and do this.

I was very nervous when I started this, I am in the upper limits of someone who should even attempt this..(37 yrs old, 6ft tall hovering around 245 lbs +/- 3 depending on the week). I had knee issues back college but haven't really had any issue with them for the last 5 - 7 years. They have been good enough for me to be able start running on them again 3 - 5 times a week and do some weight training.

I knew I was not starting this from couch potato but I wasn't exactly in great shape either. I hit my breaking point 3 years ago when I heard "285" in the dr’s office. Since then I have been determined to get back into shape. I wanted something I could do at home or on the road. Something that I could commit to and see results.

So Far Insanity as been that.

Welcome aboard..I don't think there is an upper limit on doing this program. Bottomline is if you can dig deeper and try and do as Shaun T shows you results will happen. I am 50 and have had no problems with the program except the occasional cussing at Shaun for asking me to hold on and give more. Oh, I think that's every night.. Seriously results have to come if you follow the program.. Congrats on making the move to a healthier you.

Thanks everyone for the support!!! I really appreciate it. My biggest fear has been my knees. When I spoke about the upper limits, I was worried about my weight and the Plyo-metrics we perform in this. Some sight I was on, cautioned doing them for anyone near 240. After week one I noticed some minor swelling and stiffness, but no pain. I’ve seen this before, similar to when I was playing basketball.

I've kept on and so far, not to much change for the better or the worse, but I have begun icing them nightly and cherish the Cardio Recovery and Rest Days. The stiffness disappears after the warm-ups, but I have already read someone say that might be due to the adrenaline and increased blood flow.

So far my plan is to keep an eye on it daily, take my time (really concentrate on form) during some of the more knee intensive moves and maybe substitute another Cardio move for some of the higher impact Pylo-moves (ie. Power-Jumps) .

John... I cuss more at the other people in the gym responding "they are feeling good" when asked, while I am dying at home :)

Seriously the results are coming... I am down 4 lbs since the start and probably could have been more but I strayed a few times from the eating program... But each day is a new day and keep pushing through!!
