Hey everyone! I am posting this publicly to make myself stick to the plan. I figured it also will be good to let others know if it works.
I heard that Shaun T has recommended cutting your daily calories by 400-600 for one week during month 2 in order to boost weight loss.
I have been aiming for 2000 per day during Insanity so I'm going to decrease that to 1500-1600 per day for the next 7 days.
(Today is day 50 for me)
It's not going to be easy because I love to eat and the diet portion of this program has been the hardest for me to stick to.
I have lost 13 lbs so far and have stayed around this weight for about 3 weeks. Hopefully this plan will help me lose 2-5 more.
Wish me luck-I'll keep you all updated.

Great job in reaching Day 50! I am a huge foodie myself- I was one of the few people evidently to subscribe to Gourmet magazine before it got cancelled; now I have a Cooking Light subscription.
If you can do 50 days of Insanity, I know you can meet your calorie goal. Good luck.

Sunny, how are your energy levels and motivation? You're about at the point that it went south for me and I really had to push myself a lot harder just to finish. Sounds like you're still going strong. And how is the calorie reduction going?
SRG, I LOVE Cooking Light. Hungry Girl is also fantastic (although depending on how you feel on certain processed things, you have to pick and choose with her).

Good job on the thirteen pounds. Hopefully you'll knock off those last few pounds you shooting for.

Hey sunnyday... How's the reduction in Cals made you feel this week??? I know it's only been a couple days but do you perceive it to be a benefit?? I am going to try and cut of 500 cal a day for the whole month if I can. I figure I can do 2k a day and stay strong in month 2 but if it does take away from my strentgh and endurance I'll head back up to 2500 and let the belly remain..Let us know how you're feeling..

Thanks for the support guys!
I am 3 days into it and staying right on plan. It's been difficult but knowing I had to post my progress on here has helped keep me focused. :) My work has been ridiculously stressful this week (partly due to that Islandic volcano) and I tend to use food to help me cope with stress. But this week I'm determined to stick to my eating plan so I'm channeling all that negative energy into my Insanity workouts.John- I do notice that my energy levels have been more constant throughout the day. That could be because the majority of calories that I cut came from sweets and starches. So far I still have enough energy to get through the workouts.
Sara- I actually took 4 days off at the beginning of month 2 while on vacation and I had to take one day off last week due to "life" going on. Since Insanity won't end at 60 days for me (I plan to go another round) I didn't stress over missing those days and got right back on schedule. I really think those extra breaks have kept my motivation from waning. I am finally at that point in month 2 where I feel like I can actually DO the workouts and that keeps me motivated. The first week of MAX workouts I felt like there was no way I was going to ever be able to get through them. This week I can really feel myself getting stronger all over and it is a great feeling to actually be able to DO plank punches, push-ups, tuck-jumps, ect.!Posted 2 years ago # -
Hello all. It's been 7 days. I stayed right on track up until day 5. Day 5 fell on a Friday and I had worked a long, stressful 15-hour day. After I got home I was really hungry and tired and I let all the rules go out the window. I splurged on cereal, peanut butter crackers, pizza and chocolate almond bark. (quite a combo, right?!)
I got back on track for day 6 and 7 but I'm disappointed that I didn't make it all 7 days.
Good news is that I lost 2 lbs. I felt like I had enough energy but my crazy splurge day may indicate that I was eating too little overall to sustain my workout regimen.
-I would recommend this week-long plan to any of you that have hit a weight-loss plateau. It's a good way to re-assess your calorie needs.
I actually found that I can do well with less than the 2000 cals per day that I was eating. I am going to shoot for 1800/day from here on.
Anyway, today I begin my LAST week of Insanity (round 1)! I am so excited, I can't believe I've made it this far.
Have a great day everyone!Posted 2 years ago #
