I did Plyometric Cardio Circuit this morning, and it was the first Insanity workout since I finished a month ago. To give you an idea of what I've been up to, I've been practicing vinyasa (flow yoga) three days a week and doing some other type of exercise (including some interval training) the other 2-3 days per week. I try to fit in a full-body weight training circuit in there. The interval workouts I've been using haven't been quite as hard but slightly longer than the Insanity month 1 discs, but I haven't been doing interval training more than once a week.
First, I loved it. I have really missed Insanity. It flew by and I loved the feeling of working so hard that breathing was a serious task. That familiar nauseated feeling returned just briefly, but overall I found I've maintained my fitness level since I finished Insanity. I did about the same with this routine as I did when I inserted it once near the end of month 2. So, good news! I haven't lost anything, and my joints felt good throughout. There is life after Insanity.
I'm going to start incorporating Insanity back into my regular routine once or twice a week, although just the month 1 workouts for now. The month 2 workouts left me so fatigued overall that I'm hesitant to revisit them just yet.
So if any of you are really worried about losing your fitness level after Insanity, don't be. Keep working out, but you don't have to kill yourself to keep what you've achieved.
