worried about soreness

So, I'm about to order the kit. I have about 50 pounds to loose, and am weak overall. I can do 5 push-ups max, and run a 11 minute mile. Lol, not even gonna talk about lifting.

The most intense cardio I do is zumba class, I am good with those.

I am worried about soreness. I dont have joint problems, but I tried P90-X once and I was crazy sore the next day. What do you guys do when soreness strikes? Work through it? Take it a little easy? Any suggestions to make soreness less intense? Thats the hardest thing to work through motivation wise for me.

There is no doubt you will be sore. That's part of it. Work through it, the first week is painful!

Ditto in regard to Sean's comments + drink approximately 100 ounces of water per day, the first week you may want to take ibuprofen to alleviate muscle soreness, long term... supplement with 5-10 Grams of L-Glutamine tabs or chews on workout days and for overall joint health also take glucosamine sulfate (not hydrochloride, sulfate is more bioavailable to your body) and chondroitin. You WILL be sore...but you will get through if you train and care for yourself accordingly. Peace & Out.

@Emra, I started this with chronic injury, can't run for toffee and have tremor in both arms so can't do push ups EVER again.

    I do it.

I just do things with a 5kg medicine ball when everyone else is doing the push up stuff. Still works my shoulders, back and core.

Boswellia is a fab anti inflammitory and painkiller. Indian Frankincense. Buy it online or in a health food shop.
