No where can I find out how long each workout is.
Hi Erica, the workouts vary in length from the first month to the second month. During the first month, the workouts are between 30-40 minutes long. In the second month they are about 45-60 minutes long. I hope this answers your question.
Hey, I am 54, have worked out with a trainer for a year, 3 times a week, but not real hard stuff. I am 40 pounds overweight. My husband died a few months ago and I have not worked out at all since. I want to be strong and get in good shape and of course lose weight. I need to do this to be healthy for my children and feel good about myself. Can I do this 60 day Insanity workout or do you think it is too much, too fast? I need help to get in shape, but I really am not up to a gym and lots of people. This is so frustrating to know what to do. I feel paralyzed. What do you recommend?
Hi Susan, first off I am so sorry to hear about your husband. As for if Insanity is right for you, that is hard for me to tell you. I think it would be best to ask your trainer. It is definitely a very hard workout. It is great to be able to work out at home as I too don’t like going to gyms, etc. Also, you can come over and post in the forum and get other opinions as well.
Good luck in whatever you decide and please let us know how it turns out!
I would like to know what type of protein powder Shawn T takes? What type of whey protein? What is rhe results and recovery formula?
To be honest, I don’t know what kind of protein he uses. I also don’t use the results and recovery formula as I personally don’t feel like I need it. Here is the protein powder I use.
Hi,
I had my 2nd child a year ago and suffer from excruciating back pain due to numerous factors…2 epidurals/c-sections, arthritis and of couse the excess weight. I would love to loose 40-50 lbs but not sure if I should attempt this. I am desperate sooooo, what are your recommendations?
Sue, I am not sure if this workout is right for you. If you have back pain like you describe, you will not be able to do these exercises. You have to build up some sort of base and strength first. I am not a doctor or anything, but don’t put yourself in harms way for worse injuries.
I use to do Taebo Advanced back to back for 2 hours. I needed something more challenging. I should have watched out what I wished for. I am in week 2 and Cardio Abs is literally INSANE. I have never in my life had a work out like I am having now. This is the best program out there. My son is in the military and he trains hard. He started the program and agrees it is INSANE. My husband and other son in high school are doing the program as well. WE LOVE IT. Due to our schedule is it “ok” to skip two days due to military police job, or should he start over? Shawn T. You are amazing.
Just purchased Insanity this morning for my 29th bday. Used to be active duty Army and was 205lbs, now Im about 265 and trying to drop weight to get back in to the Army. What should I expect?
You should expect a workout that will kick your butt! If you stick to it, in 60 days you will be in incredible shape. Good luck!
Iam currently 185 and looking to drop 35 to 45 pounds. I used to play sports in high school and have just gotten lazy over the past two years. I was wondering if the Insanity workout will be too much for me. I do relize that I probably will not be able to complete the entire workout at first. But I am thinking that if I do as much as I can that it will be a start and that I can work up to completeing the entire thing. Any advice would be a great help. I just wanted to say that i think that it is great that you guys give honest advice and do not push the product. I want to get healthy again and live that way thank you
Seeing as how you have an athletic background, I think you will be just fine. The key is to just stick to the program. You will be able to finish, just at varying degrees with everyone else. No one can actually do every workout from start to finish that I know of (even the people in the videos). Make that choice and go for it!
Hi, my name is hugh and im about 45 pounds overweight and im 20 years old. Im a very determined man but I cant afford a gym and ive tried running and lifting and nothing happens. I want a workout program that will give me fast results. I have no health problems what so ever other than excess weight. I just want somebody to tell me based on my information if I can handle the Insanity program.
My best advice would be to head over to the forums and read through some posts and ask your questions. We have some incredibly smart members there that can help you with your decision: http://www.crazyworkoutblog.com/forum
hey, im 33 i used to do a little of my own workout but since i had my son i have been very busy to take the time to do any workouts and my son is 6 now. I really want to make a change in my life and i know once i set my goal i will go after it. Im really small in size, 105lbs. Can i give this amazing workout a shot or maybe its to much for me, if not can u recomment something to start of with. Thank you
If you really want to get in the best shape of your life and you don’t have any medical issues, that do INSANITY! I can’t answer if it is too much for you or not. In fact, it is overwhelming in the beginning for everyone that does this, even the athletes on the DVD’s. It is a definite commitment, but one you will not regret.
Be sure to order from the Official Insanity DVD Page
I love insanity this is really awesome, you can stop, I really motivated with this program and I can notice , my body hurt but this is good it means that insanity is transforming my body.. yessss,
Hi, I hv review the Insanity workout and i think is a quite effective workout but i not sure about it. My body is skinny and weight 57kg so consider underweight and gt some belly fat around my stomach? Btw I am also a runner. So my goal is to get 6 pack body. So is this workout will be suitable to me. Thx
Well, you sound just like me! I am skinny and it helped me for sure. I am also a runner. Check out my before and after pictures to see my results.
but in the same time is the insanity workout can help me build muscle mass since i am skinny?
After 60 days, what’s next?? can I repeat?? it’s healthy?
Of course! You can do it over as many people do and yes it is extremely healthy! Please read through the blog to learn more.
I am going out of town for a couple of days, so i will skip day 39 and 40. when i come back, do i just start at 39 again? or should i start month two all over since i’m only 3 days into it?
I don’t think it matters either way, just that you are doing it. Personally, i would probably pick up where I left off and keep going, perhaps making up a day on a rest day. But whatever you choose is ok as long as you are committed to finishing!
Hey, I’m 22 years old had 2 previous ACL surgiers. I have always been active but I aparently have a littel bit of atritis going on known as DJD. I love being push to the limit but I’m scaed that I’ll injury my knee again 2 times is good enough for me. I’m clear to do what I want now. But for the people that have done this, would it be something that I could do? I really want to try try but I don’t want to damage my body more than it has been damaged. I play basketball adn football so it gets pretty beaten up.
This workout is definitely strenuous on the knees, there is no doubt about it. My knees were sore for a few weeks after finishing, but they weren’t seriously injured. This program will push your limits for sure, but you have to be conscious of your form throughout.
Hi, I am interested in purchasing the Insanity videos. I am 41 years old, mother of two boys (7 & 10), I am also overweight. In the past 2 years I have slowly gone from 264 down to my current of 191. I am 5 ft 7 inches tall. I used to just walk on the treadmill, then I started running, then I moved on to the eliptical. Now I do 3 days weight trainning at max for muscle exhaustion, then 2 to 3 days of cardio. I want to know if this would be a good workout for me. I have Shaun’s Hip Hop abs, I can do the workout, but got real bored with it.
Please advise if you can.
Thank you
Hi Geneva,
It sure sounds like you are ready to me! You are already exercising and seem to be on the right path. Insanity will definitely be a (good) challenge for you.
OK…. I just ordered the Insanity Workout DVD’s today, they should arrive by Friday (yea, I’m not patient)!! I want to start Sunday, so Saturday will be my “rest” day, this works out well, because I am a Sabbath keeper. Wish me luck. I have to do my pre-Insanity pictures and measurements.
Awesome! Come join us over in the forum http://www.crazyworkoutblog.com/forum and post your before pictures and ask any questions you might have.
Hi. I am fourteen years old and turning 15 in October. My mom says workouts like these will stunt my growth. Right now I am 5′5 and goin to grow more. Is it safe for me to use this workout?
I have never heard of exercise stunting growth? However, this is a high intensity workout so I am not sure how suited it is for teenagers. If you are already exercising and in generally good shape than I would think it is ok to try.
my wife and i are very interested in do the program, but i was diagnosed with a little herniation and a bulging disk (L5-S1). The doctor told me that is unremarkable and there is not bony lesions, i dont feel pain and the doctor told me that i can do exercise but not lifting weigths more than a 60 pounds and no running. i can swim and walk fast.
We saw your promo and we love it!!!!! we want to know if you can recommend it to us.
Thanks.
I would definitely listen to your doctor. This is a high intensity workout that can put a lot of strain on your body. It does not sound like this would be ideal for you. Perhaps you can show the promo to your doctor and let him evaluate, but my first thought is that you may have to wait to do INSANITY.
i am skinny and i wish to gain muscle. I don’t want to lose weight anymore. Can I still do it? Will this workout cause big impact to my knees?
Take a look at my pictures, I am skinny too. You can gain muscle, but you will have to eat a lot more than what the guide says. Eat lots of protein and eat often.
Do you need to go to the gym in addition to doing the insanity workouts? I am a 21 year old female and am looking to lose about 25-30 pounds. I need the best results possible. I started the insanity dvds but want to make sure the 45 min workouts are enough for optimal wieght loss.
This isn’t a strictly weight loss program, it is designed to transform your body. So you will gain muscle as you lose fat and the net loss might be less than if you were just starving yourself on a fad diet. These workouts are pretty hard, I couldn’t imagine adding more, but if you body can handle it, go for it!
i am 32year old male, I am over40lbs above my ideal weight. I have no condition and I never practiced sports. Lately I am getting overweight and have no time for gym between my work and activity as a free lance. Do you think this could work for me or it is to much for a beginner.
It is a challenging program, but I can’t answer whether you should do it or not. Don’t be fooled though, this is a commitment. You mention not having time for the gym, well you need to find time 6 days a week to do these workouts as well as follow the eating plan. If you are serious about changing your body, this will work! But only with commitment.
My 6 yr old has been wanting to join my wife and me during the workouts so we let him, thinking he’d quit within minutes. To our suprise he last about 25 minutes on one of the dvd’s. Now he crys when we tell him he cant join us. Should we allow him to continue at his own pace?
I would say that is up to you as a parent. But if he is not overdoing it, exercise is great for kids! My kids would often join in too, but lose interest after about 10-15 minutes.
HI! I was active in sports my entire life until my freshman year at college when I became very lazy. It is almost summer and I have realized all of the weight gain has finally caught up to me. I gained about 8 pounds. I am 5′1 and weigh 138 pounds. I was wondering if you could tell me if this workout would help me get back to where I was before college?
Thanks!
Yes, I think it will! It will get you in the best shape of your life if you follow the program and the diet.
Hi – I just bought the insanity workout. I am currently about 30 lbs overweight. Is it important to complete the daily workout in its entirety or would it be ok to do half at one time and the other half later in the day? Thanks!
You need to do the workout all at once for the most benefit. Half of it is the warmup and cooldown anyways. Just go at your own pace and take breaks when needed. Push yourself to your limit, don’t try and match the people in the video and you will be ok. None of us finish the workouts in the beginning without stopping.
I have had 3 kids and am in my mid 40’s and am in pretty good shape however I have this flabby part in the lower ab part of my body. Doing the Insanity workouts, will that help tighten and flatten that up? I feel the muscle behind there but it’s that bulg flab that needs to go away. My diet is pretty good. Not sure what else I have to do.
This will do it! Get ready for the hardest workout you have ever done.
I am 1 week into Insanity. I consider my self to be a hardgainer. I am 5′10″ and weigh 157lbs. I am ok with my weight, wouldn’t mind gaining some. If I eat around 3000 calories a day will I get in shape AS WELL as look bigger? Thanks!
You will definitely gain some muscle but you will also be losing a lot of fat (even if you don’t have much). I basically stayed the same weight but improved my muscle mass and tone through the workout.
I am 25 years old and 115lbs, I started the workout 2wks ago and it’s intense! My only problem is that my lower back starts to hurt after certain workouts. I can’t pin point which workouts do it but it just feels like a big knot in my lower back and it will last for days! I really want to tone up and tighten my stomach, should I continue through the program??
I would say if it is just muscle pain, to power through it. If you have injured yourself then you need to take time off to heal. make sure you are using proper form on all the exercies.
Remember to pace yourself also. It sure is a tough workout but you have to stick to it. What goal are you hoping to acheive with this workout?
I’m 22 and 130 lbs. been like that for years. I can eat whatever I want still be about the same weight. Would this workout help me build muscle?
Yes it can if you eat the right foods (and enough of them). You need to eat a lot of protein and calories to gain weight (muscle), but it can be done for sure.
It will help! I’m not looking to loose any weight myself but flatten my stomach and get my endurance back. Believe me when i say it works. Im down 3 pant sizes
Started insanity in August 2011 and now we are in Sept 30, 2011. I have droppped 3 inches of my waist line from 32 to 29. Love the results I’m getting. I did P90X for about a year and my upper body did transform but now that I’m doing both p90x and instanity my body has really changed dramitically.
