Hi I should recieve my Insanity workout tomorrow. I am so excited to start. I liked this workout because you don’t need any equipment (bands or balls…etc). Anyhow, what sort of shoes do you recommend. All I have are running shoes, I WAS training for a marathon, but am in a training blah right now….need to get my motivation back.
Hi Rose, welcome to INSANITY! I am doing this workout pretty much for the same reasons, that you don’t need any additional equipment. As for shoes, I am a runner as well (not marathon distance or anything!). I would run 2-3 times a week prior to starting Insanity. I am using my running shoes for this and it is just fine. They recommend cross trainers, but I don’t think it really matters. Good luck, keep me up to date with your progress!
hi, i`m just curious about the total calories burnes in the workouts, i`m a woman and i`m doing the program, should i be burning the same amount of calories as you did?
daniela, of course it varies per person and per workout, but I generally burn 500-600 per workout in month one, and 700-800 during a workout in month two.
Will do…don’t think I could write a blog. But reading your progress and experiences thus far really motivates me…keep up the good work!!!
i lost my dial work out calender now i have no idea what i am supposed to do for each day.
i’m considering insanity. i’m not really looking to lose a lot of weight, but really just want to focus on toning and leaning up. does the nutrition guide include diet provide recommendations for that? Also, does the schedule have any rest days? i would imagine there are some as the body needs to recover so was curious how that is factored into the schedule.
You will definitely tone up, but this routine is very intense. There is one rest day per week. Yes, there is a great nutrition guide that you can modify for your particular goals
Have been doing pretty well keeping up with the workout calander. Have been doing it for approx 3 weeks. I usually workout at night, anywhere from 830pm-1030pm. Lately the challenge is not being able to workout. Working longer hours at work. In the AM, it’s just too busy What should I do? Play catch up or stick with the workout routine for that day.
Just do your best and what works for you. For me, I was determined not to miss a workout no matter what. I did some at 5 in the morning and others at night if needed. But others are not so strict as I was. Sometimes you have to decide if it is a priority for you and make the time!
Hello, I just finished my second day of INSANITY. I love the program, so far, even thought I’ve had to stop at times. Through two days, I have yet to make my way through a workout without stopping.
I am prone to calf strains. And, today, during my second workout, I feel a strain in my left calf. Did you have to deal with any injuries while working through the program?
As you read through my blog day to day you will see I too had issues. My issues were with my knees. I would say just modify slightly where you can to avoid further injury. There is a difference between pain and injury and that’s up to you to decide where you are at.
hello! I have had insanity for about 2 months now and can’t stick with it. I honestly do love it even though its hard but cant seem to stick with it. I work late nights and between school and my daughter its hard to make time.. Any sugestions on how to stick with it?
