I'm 31 and weigh 135, i gained weight due to a lot of stress but I'm still small. I bought insanity hoping to lose weight, tone and strengthen by body. Insanity is the toughest workout ever! Congrats to everybody that completes it!! I'm on day 10 and have a workout partner, he's lost 7 lbs. already but I haven't lost anything and I'm even on the lowest calories needed, per insanity, to lose weight. I know I have to wait the whole 60 days but just seeing how everybody's lost weight by day 10 even, it kinda discourages me when I'm eating right and even doubling up on workouts some days, insanity and running and am even taking hydroxycut. I'm not sure on what else I can do!!

If you are planning to bulk up and do mass weight gain, then this is not for you. You will certainly gain muscle doing this, but you will be working your muscles every day. This tones and strengthens them, but does not add bulk as bodybuilders desire.

My goal is to get a ripped core along with a strong base for my lower body, but at the same time I wish to bulk up to become stronger, especially my upper body. I am told that insanity really strengthens the core and lower body, but makes you lose weight and possibly muscle mass. I am about 5'9'' and 170 pounds. I can afford to lose some body fat but I already do not have much to lose. My main worry is that I will not be able to bulk up if I do Insnaity.

Therefore, my plan was to do Insanity while doing weight lifting. I am not sure whether to do 3 days of lifting with 3 days of insanity or do insanity after lifting. What do you think would be the best for my situation? Thank you.

P.S. I am planning on using protein shakes and creatine along with my regular diet.

I would be careful with the knee because Insanity does not get any easier on the knees. You must make sure you are using correct form above all. You might want to check with a doctor if you have a pre-existing condition as well as if you are on medication.

I'm 50, and have been doing the P90X program for 1 1/2 years. Recently got Insanity, but is making an old knee injury flare up. I'm thinking of combining the 2 workouts, so that I do Insanity 2-3 times/ week, and P90X 3 times/ week. Any thoughts or recommendations? I'm a female and on medication, and interested in weight loss, while building muscle. Thanks!

If you are dizzy and short of breath, definitely stop. Make sure you are drinking enough water. Also make sure you have a heart rate monitor to check your heart rate. Don't overdo it!

Hey everyone - I recently started the Insanity program (I am on day 13) and searched the internet to find a forum I could join to see/discuss/complain while in the midst of these 63 crazy days. I had a baby 10 months ago and was having a hard time getting and keeping motivated to lose the weight (20lbs still to go) I came across this program on TV and something clicked...I just had to have it. I was so excited to get my materials and my excitement has not dimmed too much (we have recently had a couple of tragic life events occur that has made me have a hard time wanting to take time away from my kids). I have not lost any weight yet, I am not following the nutrition plan but I do follow Weight Watchers (well, I should say I try...need to work on that). I took my measurements, but not a picture yet I will try to remember to do that today. Sorry I am all over the board here....I am really happy to have found this forum and I can't wait to see where I am at on day 63 and beyond.

Yes I am! My own variation of it though. For me, I am trying to add some calories, but the basics of high protein, low fat diet apply. You need to follow this for optimal results. Cut out the fats, sugars, and all the junk from your diet and it will make a big difference.
