Protein Powder Supplements
Do any of you use protein powder supplements? I am thinking I need something since part of my goal is to gain weight and muscle.
I am finding I cannot eat enough food in the day as much as I try! Of course, I am referring to healthy food. I am trying to pick up the portions and add more to the mid-day meal/snacks, but think I could benefit from a protein powder.
The one I am going to try is MHP Probolic-Sr Vanilla – 2 Pound Powder – Protein Shakes. My only reasoning on this particular brand is that I asked a friend and this is what he uses. He said he did all sorts of research and decided this was the best one for him. Any advice though would be appreciated!

My hubby and I use EAS vanilla protein and like it. This is a good brand, and if you get it at Sam’s Club (not sure if you have that store) you can get a 5 lb. bag for $29. If you get it at Target, it will cost about $21 for only 2 lbs.
Hope this helps
I use Pro-Rated vanilla (whey). I do know that whey is easier for your body to use than soy or other vegetable protein, and avoid hemp because ack! It tastes like rope! Mine comes in a 6-pound bucket from Costco for about $20-something, and is also the best deal I’ve found yet.
I saw that! It’s the same price as the one I was talking about, but wasn’t sure how it tasted…I’ll be checking that one out next
Well, they all taste craptastic. But there are varying degrees of it, at least.
Thanks for the great recommendations guys, I will check them out!
PS …
For healthy weight gain, coconut milk and coconut oil are great things to incorporate into your diet. They are so good for you, with lots of essential fatty acids, and are insanely caloric. A great treat: look for ice cream made from pure coconut milk and sweetened with agave, which is low-glycemic. Luna and Larry’s is the best.
