Just writing that title makes me realize how close to completion I really am. It really is hard to believe I started this in January and it is almost springtime and I am still at it. One more week to dig deeper and conquer this thing we call Insanity!
Today was an uneventful rest day. The weather was kind of crappy outside so there really wasn’t much to do. I pretty much hung around the house and played with kids and watched some NCAA basketball. It was nice because on previous rest days I have been really active as well, so this was truly a day of rest.
I can barely feel any twinge at all in the knees which is great. I still go gingerly up and down stairs from habit. All I need is for them to hold out one more week!
Ok, off to visualize the final week of Insanity . . .
Day 55 – Max Interval Sports Training
I just realized as I am posting this that I only have one more rest day during all of Insanity!
As always, a rest day is much welcomed. And, as has been the standard the last 2 weekends, I have worked hard in the yard on these beautiful sunny days. So, I didn’t rest in the true sense of the word. I was out there tilling soil for the garden and raking leaves that have been sitting for months from fall. But the yard looks great and we are ready for spring!
The past 2 weeks by Saturday my knees are feeling tender. It was the same this week. However, as I write this Monday morning, my knees feel fine. I think the rest day is so important to this whole program. In weeks past I would have shifted workouts around to get them all in and workout on Sunday. But I will not do that anymore as I realize the value of letting your body recuperate.
Only 2 more weeks to go!
Day 48 – Max Interval Sports Training
I think the rest days during this second month should be called Max Rest Days, you should be allowed to sleep in, do nothing and order out
In all seriousness, it is greatly satisfying that I got through this week. It was definitely as tough (although seems tougher at the moment) as the first week of Insanity. It’s kind of hard to compare because the memory is so short term these days when working out so often.
The week started off painful, with muscles soreness all around, but subsided as the week went on. I don’t have any muscle soreness at all right now. However, I am experiencing some knee pain. It started yesterday after the last workout. It isn’t serious, but it is definitely there. I am not sure if it was from the one workout, or a culmination of the week, but I am very glad today is the rest day. Hopefully by tomorrow they will feel better and I will be ready for the next week.
I also realized today that I only have 3 more weeks to go! It seems like such a short period of time, but I know better.
Nothing breezes by with Shaun T yelling in your ear!
If the pattern continues, this next week will also be difficult (like week 2 of Insanity), but it will be much more familiar and I will see progress as to how many of the moves I can do. That is what I anticipate anyways. I feel like month 2 is a mirror of month 1 as far as pushing the limits of your body and conditioning if that makes any sense.
Ok, off to watch the closing ceremonies of the Olympics and to rest up the body for week SEVEN!
Day 41 – Max Interval Plyometrics
